You know how some places have special days for continuously special events like the first Friday of the month or the third Thursday which I think they choose because it's really fun to say but it could really be any day of the month so in Boise they got together and someone said “first Thursday” and I’m sure there was a lot of talking about this so then now in Boise on the first Thursday of the month like the one on April 2, 2026, a bunch of art galleries all over Boise will be open late and people like you and me can cruise through and see the artwork and see other people seeing the artwork and maybe chat with the artists and have a special event beverage and nibbles and it’s always a warm feeling so I’m excited to invite you particularly to visit Lenses & Brushes, a public darkroom and creative space for photography and painting (and, and…) located in BODO at 404 8th Street from 5:30 - 7:30pm in the lower lobby and come see some photographs I made recently (I’m super excited to show the “Imaginary Landscapes” for the first time publicly) using a medium-format film camera and some I made using a Canon R5 and some I made on my iPhone a while ago and check out the darkroom where you can develop negatives and make prints shot on film that you can pick up at Lenses & Brushes and learn about their photography and painting classes and experiences where I started my film photography with Heidi Cabrera who set this up and to whom I am so grateful.

These things too recently inspired me

  • What is fine art photography - Sophie Heatly explains fine art photography simply and gives a few examples…I’m working toward this…

  • MTV Rewind - So MTV powered down at the end of 2025 and some clever folks got together to archive all the videos so we can enjoy them whenever…super cool project.

  • The nostalgification of everything - a short film (8 min onYouTube video (prolly 8 minutes wherever you watch it)) by Shaffer Nickel that really inspired me to consider and feel…watch it if you want an uplift.

  • What to eat if you have seasonal allergies - Spring is here and I really don’t like allergy meds…so it goes.

  • A few photos from Sedona - We were in Sedona for a few days more days than that ago and I’ve been meaning to share these.

Very sincerely, I’m excited to show some new work that I’m happy with and would love to hear your thoughts. If you can stop by on April 2, it would really mean a lot.

In the meantime,
