Happy Thanksgiving! These Things inspired me recently:

  • 20 Great Thanksgiving Movies to Watch With the Family This Holiday” - My favorite Thanksgiving film on this list, “Home for the Holidays” with Holly Hunter and Robert Downey Jr. I also love “Big Eden” which has a Thanksgiving scene and is a cozy film.

  • Why you Need a Reading Plan” - I need this! I love reading and love reading novels but I’ve hit a wall where I’ve skipped from book to book without direction and Brett offers some great suggestions on how to keep from reading yourself into a corner.

  • Listen to the World” - This New York Times feature is fascinating how it incorporates words, images, and audio to create a rich experience of being in some unique places like a volcano lava flow in Hawaii, a forest in Madagascar, a salt flat in Chile, and New York City.

Here’s How I Plan to Stay Healthy During the Winter Holidays

Parties, people, airplanes, weather, winter, the days darkening, holidays, holy days, moments of introspection, family, and guests--here’s how I plan to stay healthy during the winter holidays. I’m working to create a daily routine that includes:

  • For daily immune support, I take two capsules a day of the Host Defense Stamets 7. These contain the Royal Sun Blazei, Cordyceps, Reishi, Maitake, Lion's Mane, Chaga and Mesima mushrooms.

  • I also try and drink a cup a day of the Four Sigmatic Chaga Mushroom Elixir which taste like coffee and chicory.

  • Once everyone starts coming into the office sick, I take the Host Defense MyCommunity Comprehensive Immune Support which is similar to the Stamets 7 but includes 17 different mushrooms that is “the most comprehensive immune support formula in the Host Defense line and encourages resistance to cellular assaults.”

  • I also love drinking the Four Sigmatic Reshi Elixir about an hour before bed for its calming effect, immune support, and (for some people (me)) it seems to help reduce anxiety, fatigue, and depression.

It’s important to note that I didn’t begin to experience the full effect of taking these until after about four weeks of continuous daily use so I’m wondering why I didn’t send you this info two editions ago. Well, better late than…
