In case you you’re like me and indulging in the beauty of autumn light without consideration of our time and place in space in regard to the tilt of the planet and lilting meniscus-like arc of the sun as it cruises its way ever lower to the horizon through the blaze of autumn among the birch along a river on a bicycle ride home in the northern hemisphere--the fall and winter holidays are upon us.

I love this time of year when I simultaneously want to gather with friends and family and at the same time walk alone along the river or cozy up with a book and be led into those other places. I think these things are going to help me maintain a sense of self and community over the next few weeks:
